New Year, New Changes for CFP!
I know it’s already halfway through February, but happy 2014 everyone! 
We’ve been having a nice and relaxing “off season”, recharging and resetting after our first big wedding season! The dead of winter is a unique time of year for us as a business…Chance works a few different jobs during the year, and sometimes I actually “forget” that we have a wedding photography business! But believe it or not, we DO have a business and we’re only a couple of weeks away from our first wedding of the year (we’re ready for you, Caleb + Jericho!) and I know it’s going to be another amazing year! It’s going to be our busiest year yet, with 12 weddings already booked! We have a lot of changes in our lives, personally and professionally, so I thought I’d share some of those with you before our season begins.
**Personally, our biggest news is that we’re having our first baby!! Little boy Faulkner is due on June 6 and we are sooo excited to meet him! Chance is going to be the best dad and I am going to be the luckiest mom because I am going to have free professional portraits of my baby for the rest of his life! (That’s how it works being married to a photographer, right?) Thankfully, we didn’t have any weddings scheduled in June by the time we found out we were expecting, so we didn’t have to back out of anything just in case!
**Our new arrival affects our business in another way, because I will no longer be able to attend weddings with Chance (sad face). Although I am thrilled to spend time with our little guy when he’s here, part of me is mourning the loss of these times that Chance and I got to spend together…I looooved going to all of our weddings, getting to celebrate with the bride & groom, and even having Chance humor me as he lets me take some pictures! The past two summers were very big blessings to me, and great memories. But I will still have the esteemed job of editing down Chance’s photos, and running this little blog here- although I probably won’t be able to give any descriptions or details of the weddings since I won’t have actually been there!
**My goal for this year is to blog a little more, perhaps a little about our personal lives/inner workings of our business (complete with photos, of course), and to add some more fun wedding content. I’m not too sure what that’ll be like, but I love reading other wedding photography blogs and would love for our blog to be something our readers & clients enjoy checking out! So if you have any bloggy ideas, comment on here or on our facebook page and let me know what kind of content you’d like!
**We are super excited to have another member added to the Chance Faulkner Photography team…our new assistant, Carleigh! Carleigh will be attending this summer’s weddings as Chance’s assistant, aka all around pack-mule (holding the reflector, camera bag, whatever other accessories a photographer can come up with…) and helping keep everything running smoothly on an administration front! We are super grateful for Carleigh’s help and we know that all of our brides & grooms will love her!!
