{Community Butcher Shop} Peterborough Ontario

We have recently opened a studio in Downtown Peterborough, and so every day we walk past the new Community Butcher Shop, located in the heart of Downtown on George Street next to Nata’s Cafe and just a few doors down from our studio. My wife and I have really enjoyed the local, ethical, affordable, and delicious meat that we’ve found at the Community Butcher Shop. We really appreciate what Scott is bringing to our downtown, by reclaiming the art of breaking down whole animals and providing our community with a convenient shopping experience for meat, organic eggs, and even some produce. We think they are a great addition to our downtown scene and hope they stick around for a long time!

From their business cards: “Community Butcher Shop is dedicated to selling meat from small local farms within 50 kms of Peterborough. We hold dear the nearly lost tradition of buying and carving whole animals. Everything in our shop is humanely raised without any hormones or antibiotics.”

We had a great time photographing Scott at work. Seeing exactly where the meat we eat comes from was pretty cool. You can check out their website here: http://www.communitybutchershop.ca/
